What is your Business DNA?

Do you ever look back and wonder WHY you started your business? What was your motivation? Has this changed?

Running a business is filled with highs and lows, and there will always be times when things are moving forward exactly as planned and times when you feel like you’re running as fast as you can just to avoid going in reverse. I’m sure there have been days when you’ve felt like quitting as well as days you’ve thought you could achieve anything.

That’s the pendulum of business and when so many things change, it’s sometimes hard to know which direction to go in.

But most of the time your business DNA never changes, it just evolves. Take a moment to reflect on my first questions:

  • WHAT’S THE REASON YOU STARTED YOUR BUSINESS?

  • HAS MUCH CHANGED?

Your business DNA is what you’re made of and re-establishing your values, purpose, culture and desires is no doubt what will keep your going.

This may be what forms your brand and identity, your moral compass and ethos, it’s like that one strip down the middle of a stick of rock, that is the core holding it all together.

I believe anything is possible when you are clear on your mission.

MISSIONPOSSIBLE

Having clarity around our core purpose and message is vital and one way to do this is via your MISSION STATEMENT.

A Mission Statement is a short statement of why an organisation exists, what its overall goal is, identifying the goal of its operations: what kind of product or service it provides, its primary customers or market, and its geographical region of operation.

Use my VEND summary to determine the true purpose of your business and why you sell what you do, when thinking about your Mission Statement:

Value

  • What is the real value to the customer? What is the benefit?

Expectation

  • What is the expectation of the client? What can they expect to experience, receive or gain? What are the features?

Niche

  • What is it that you do differently? What is your demographic, specialism, niche, audience and USP?

Desire

  • What is the overall outcome? What do you want to achieve? This is your purpose.

WHAT IS YOUR MISSION STATEMENT?

Good Luck!
